My Balloon Bird.

We had a great time making our balloon birds which go up and down.  Blowing up the balloons was very tricky!  They look so awesome.

Grandparents' Day.

Today my grandma came to Elm Park School.  She is helping me to make a beautiful star with wool.

Choosing a Book to Read.

I am going to the Pakuranga Library to choose a book to read at my house.

Shapes.

I am learning about circles, squares, triangles and rectangles.  I cut some shapes out of paper.  I made my picture using my creative ideas.  Here is my house made with shapes.  

"I made a picture with a square house and a rectangle shaped chimney.  I made a car and a green road.  I made a tree and a sun.  When I made the car it was a little bit tricky because I made a little circle and a big circle."

I Can Recognise and Write - BIG and little.

My story - I am big and my teddy bear is little.  I wrote the story in my book and then Mrs Kerr published it on the laptop and I could choose my tagul shape and my colours.  Writing is a little bit tricky because you have to spell the words by yourself.  I am getting better and when I write I like to check the words on the board.

My Pattern.

We are learning to make a pattern that continues.  If we make a great pattern, we can give it to our friends and they can finish it off.  They can figure out what comes next in the pattern. 

"My pattern is pink, red, pink, red.  The next peg would be red.  I can make patterns with the beads too.  I like patterns because they look awesome."

I Can Read!

I am trying to read the hard words.  I can look at the pictures to help me.  I can look at the sound and try out the word.  I like to read.

"I like to go home and my mum is surprised by my reading.  I like books about fish.  I can read lots of words all by myself."

I Am Writing!

First I need to think about my story.  I can draw my picture.   I can copy the day like, Thursday.  I write a sentence to match my picture.  My teacher can help me. Sometimes my friend can help too.

"Sometimes I have to ask the teacher for help.  Sometimes I try to write it by myself.  I like writing stories."

I Can Learn At School.
